Quietly Leading Yourself

Principles Understand · Trust · Clarify

Emotional intelligence is often described as recognising and managing emotions, but in leadership it is much more practical than that. It is noticing what is happening before reacting, understanding how your behaviour affects others, and making conscious choices rather than emotional ones. Across The Quiet Leader HQ, emotional intelligence appears in many different forms. Sometimes it is about staying calm during conflict. Sometimes it is about recognising when someone needs encouragement rather than accountability. Sometimes it is simply learning to pause before speaking.
